Hired on November 11th, 2005. In April of 2006, she took a small hiatus while moving from northern Minnesota to Florida, but she was back in the saddle later in June. Since then, she fills up her time working and DJing her heart out. When asked to comment, she said, "I love Radio KoL almost as much as I love cheesecake." Now that's dedication.
Wednesday: 3pm-6pm Eastern
Friday: 10pm-12am Eastern (currently not active)
Rutabega's style is extremely eclectic. From Irish Punk/Punk to Bluegrass, Trance/Electronica to hard rock, and J-pop to Thrash, there's something for everyone except for the faint at heart. The faint at heart should listen to other, tamer DJs. Like Amplitude.
Some of the bands you can expect to hear: The Dolomites, Mutiny, Lacuna Coil, The Tossers, Blood or Whiskey, Flogging Molly, The Pogues, Dropkick Murpheys, Enter the Haggis, The Levellers, Me First and the Gimme Gimmies, Saint Bushmill's Choir, Siobhan, The Decemberists, Shane MacGowan, Relient K, Bedouin Soundclash, Deliriou5?, Celldweller, Glukoza, Ludo, Muse, Prozzak, The Kimberly Trip, BT, Juno Reactor, Daft Punk, Infected Mushroom, and much, much more.
New: Rutabega's new Saturday slot has been earmarked for 'Crossover', Christian music that doesn't suck, while Wednesdays will still be random themes. When asked to comment, Rutabega simply said, "God rocks."
Rutabega has had two cohosts in the history of her show. Captain elfy fett cohosted every Friday while Ru still lived in Minnesota, and Naners now appears occasionally on both shows. She has had a slough of other guests as well, including rtaylor, MasTechno, NakedPappaSmurf, KolMohDee, and SenorRandom. It is rumoured she'll let any pretty face on air with her.
Naners says that Rutabega is the hottest thing in Florida.
